Course curriculum

As equestrians worldwide become more aware of the importance of horse welfare, everyone involved in the horse industry needs to have an understanding of what welfare means and how it is assessed. Importantly, an understanding of what optimal welfare is for a horse is also required. What is the optimal environment, husbandry, nutrition, exercise, health care and behavioural interactions for a horse? What negative impacts on our horses’ welfare may occur if we deviate from this, and what can we do to minimise negative impacts on horse welfare, and promote positive impacts?
